Recently, the World Steel Association (WSA) released the global crude steel production data in January. 64 countries and regions in the world included in the WSA statistics crude steel production in January was 162.9 million tons, an increase of 4.8% year-on-year.
In January, crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 119 million tons, up 6.3% year-on-year; crude steel production in the EU was 12.2 million tons, down 0.4% year-on-year; crude steel production in North America was 9.6 million tons, down 7.0% year-on-year; crude steel production in South America was 3.8 million tons, up 11.4% year-on-year; crude steel production in the Middle East was 3.6 million tons, up 1.5% year-on-year; and crude steel production in the CIS was 9.2 million tons, up 1.5% year-on-year. Steel production in the Middle East was 3.6 million tons, an increase of 1.5%; crude steel production in the CIS was 9.2 million tons, up 4.5%.
